Director of Organization

The New Democratic Party of Saskatchewan has an opening for a Director of Organization. This position is responsible for all developing/coordinating organizational programs, fundraising activities, membership drives and election readiness.

Reporting Structure

The Director of Organization reports to the Provincial Secretary. The following positions report directly to the Director; Organizers, Call Centre Supervisor and Fundraisers.

Major Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

The Director of Organization major responsibilities are to:

  1. Take a lead role in the hiring and training of field organizers
  2. Prepare and coordinate programs regarding organization, membership drives and fund raising efforts of the party
  3. Oversee the Call Centre telephone and telemarketing programs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. A degree in Political Studies, Journalism or Social Work.
  2. Four years experience working with the NDP at the provincial/federal level, either for the Party or for government in a political capacity, in a senior organizational position.
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Ability to train staff and volunteers in organization techniques.
  5. Willingness to travel extensively as required.

Salary

Salary is as per the Collective Agreement, starting at $54,424.94/year.

Director of Communications and Information Technology

The New Democratic Party of Saskatchewan has an opening for a Director of Communication and Information Technology. This position is responsible for all aspects of Communication and for the Communication-related IT platform.

Reporting Structure

The Director of Communication/IT reports to the Provincial Secretary. Communication Officer/Commonwealth Editor reports directly to this position.

Major Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

The Director of Communication/IT major responsibilities are to:

Communications:

  1. Manage the Communication needs of the Party by taking a lead role in production of party communications material (election/non-election)
  2. Assist constituencies with publicity
  3. Have overall responsibility for the operations of the Commonwealth, including its content, production layout/design and budget
  4. Guide & provide direction regarding the media relations function of the Party
  5. Act as a resource person for committees as required.

Information Technology:

  1. Oversee the development, design and functionality for the party website
  2. Be responsible for the maintenance of ongoing relationships with sub-contracted suppliers who are involved in website development and maintenance
  3. Recommend/oversee the continued upgrade of other I/T facilities utilized by the party particularly during election periods
  4. Have responsibility for developing & maintaining on-line communication vehicles
  5. Provide leadership in development of electronic voter records.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. A degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Journalism, or Political Studies.
  2. Four years experience at the Federal, Provincial, or Private Sector level in senior level position(s) directly related to Communication and using Information Technology for Communications.
  3. Experience developing and managing databases for voter contact.
  4. Detailed knowledge of the Saskatchewan and Canada Election Acts.
  5. Excellent writing and communication skills,
  6. An in depth knowledge of the Party, its organization and structure.
  7. Strong leadership skills, including the ability to coach, mentor, manage the performance of the staff.

Salary
