Constituency Description
This constituency, located in east central Saskatchewan, has an economy that is based primarily on mixed farming and potash production.
Esterhazy, which is known as the Potash capital of the World, is home to two large potash mines, including K-1, the largest potash mine in the world.
The CNR divisional point in Melville is also located in this constituency.
Bredenbury village is a divisional point for the Canadian Pacific Railway and was awarded best "Christmas lights" decorations for 2001 and 2002 in all of Canada.
Melville is the largest community with approximately 4,453 residents, followed by Esterhazy (2,348), Langenburg (1,107) and Churchbridge (796).
